Steps to make Swarovski Christmas crackers

  1. Things you will need

  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Marker
  • Cutting mat
  • Cutter
  • Holiday-themed or colored gift wrap
  • Precision knife
  • Glue
  • Tissue paper
  • Cracker snaps
  • Transparent adhesive tape
  • Twine or ribbons
  • Paper tags
  • Gold marker/metallic paint, and paintbrush
  • Washi tape
  • Kraft paper
  1. Cutting Christmas crackers by hand

Cut the wrapping paper into sheets of 18cm x 28 cm (7 inches x 11 inches). Now, place a cutting mat on the working table, and place the wrapping paper on top, with the printed side facing the table.

Next, calculate and mark the dimensions, then cut with a cutter and ruler for guiding purposes. This way you can create as many paper sheets as the number of crackers you intend to make.

  1. Assemble hand-made Christmas crackers

Fold the individual pieces of paper using a ruler into crackers. Next, fold the rhombus zone inwards and crease well. Lay the cracker flat on the table and pick one of the long sides of the cracker, then roll it towards the other side. The rhombus cuts will let you form a bon-bon shape with the paper.

Now, secure the cracker by placing tabs on it. Leave the crackers in a closed state while you prepare the rest of the goodies.

  1. Prepare the paper crowns

Cut off strips of tissue paper that are 9 cm (3.5 inches wide) and use the complete length of tissue paper. Now, fold the strips like an accordion and trim the top to create zigzag cuts. After that, separate the tissue strips and decorate them with a gold marker to give them a grand look. You can either create circles, dots, lines, or any other attractive design and can even use gold acrylic paint with a paintbrush to add washy strokes.

After the designs have dried, trim the tissue strips into 60 cm lengths. However, make them a bit smaller if they are meant for kids. After that, overlap the two ends of the strip and stick them together with glue, thus forming a circle. At last, neatly fold the crowns to fit inside the Swarovski christmas crackers.

  1. Jot down the jokes

Use small pieces of Kraft paper and write down a nasty joke keeping the recipient in mind. Roll the paper into a small tube and seal it with a washi tape, and you’re done!

  1. Add snaps

Open each cracker and fold the two ends of the snaps (approximately half an inch) and glue them to the crackers along the length.

  1. Fill the crackers with those precious Swarovskis

Now, it’s time to add those exquisite crystals to each of the crackers. You can either add a piece of Swarovski crystal to each cracker along with a joke, and a crown, or you can take it a step further. You can add a few extra goodies such as chocolate coins or wrapped sweets in addition to the other goodies to make it extra special.

You may choose your Swarovski gifts based on the recipient. You can purchase elegant Swarovski friendship bracelets or Swarovski necklaces for girls. On the other hand, you can gift Swarovski magnets or key chains to boys or men.

At last, roll the Buy Swarovski christmas crackers after you have filled them with goodies. Close them by tucking the central tab into the cut-out slot. Also, close the edges in the same manner.
